Talk about having the time of your life! Speaking with Kim Zimmer and hearing her say, “Hello,” just sunk me in! The actress stopped by the show this week to chat about her time at “Guiding Light,” the cancellation of “One Life to Live,” as well as her new book, I’m Just Sayin’!
While speaking with the actress about the final two years of GL, she let her feelings be known that she was NOT a fan of the reinvention.

“I hated it. You haven’t read the book yet, but there is a LOT of stuff in the book that ties in a lot of things that happened with me. Anger issues, and a lot of ugliness that I personally went through. I was a fan of the show, I watched the show. When it started turning into a disaster the last two years, I took it as a personal assault. I had a hard time dealing with that. Ellen Wheeler was trying to reinvent the wheel. I grew up saying, ‘Don’t fix what ain’t broken.’ She was being forced to do the show on a very, VERY diminished budget. That was the way she chose to do it.”
She ends her thought by stating that she also has great faith in Frank Valentini (Executive Producer of OLTL) that if anyone can move a soap online, he can.
In the book, I’m Just Sayin! Kim talks about her struggles with alcohol and how it impacted her career, the soap opera model itself and how it REALLY is not a dying breed, and losing a job on a soap later in life.
